Michael E. Abrams, D.D.S., a certified periodontist, is a leader in the field of periodontics & Implantology. An Associate Fellow of the American College of Oral Implantology, he has practiced as a specialized dentist in Brooklyn for over 35 years. His practice, Brooklyn Periodontics & Implantology, located in the Mill Basin – Bergen Beach area, is a state-of-the-art facility that specializes in the perfect placement of dental implants.
As one of the inventors of precision, computer-guided implantology, Dr. Abrams has the experience and expertise to remake the foundation of each patient’s smile. He also collaborates expertly with primary-care dentists to ensure beautiful cosmetic dentistry results.
Dr. Abrams is a published author whose scientific works have been featured in prestigious journals: the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry; Practical Procedures and Esthetic Dentistry, & Implantology News and Views, an Internet-based publication.

He lectures extensively around the country at well-known teaching institutions such as the NYU School of Dentistry, University of Tennessee School of Dentistry, the New York Veterans’ Administration Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital Center, and at world-renowned scientific meetings. He has been a main-podium speaker at the prestigious Academy of Osseointegration, a professional society of implant specialists, where he addressed colleagues from all over the world.
Dr. Abrams holds multiple patents on the computer-guided dental-implant placement technique he pioneered. He and his partner in this invention sold Implant Logic Systems, Ltd., the company they created to market the proprietary technique, to BioHorizons, a major dental-implant products supplier, in 2008.
Dr. Abrams is founder and director of The Brooklyn Dental Forum, an advanced, continuing-education dental symposium that has been widely attended by general dentists, specialists and hygienists from the tri-state area. The BDF’s mission is “Excellence in Patient Care” through continuing education.
A Brooklyn native, Dr. Abrams is a cum laude graduate of Brooklyn College. He received his D.D.S. from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and his Specialty Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry’s Advanced Program in Periodontics.
